Premier League title race over? Arsenal draw sees Liverpool go 15 points clear at the top
The Premier League title race dominates much of the UK news this morning, as Arsenal drew 1-1 with Manchester United last night.
Much of the punditry criticises Arsenal, as the draw could be seen as them dropping crucial points in the race to win the Premier League. United are struggling down in 14th place, and Arsenal could – and should – have beaten them.
Failing to secure all three points means Arsenal sit 15 points behind Liverpool in second place, making it realistically impossible to close that gap.
Mikel Arteta’s reaction to the gap between Arsenal and Liverpool is being widely discussed this morning, as is his legacy at the club. Last night’s Super Sunday match was Arteta’s 200th Premier League game as the Gunners’ boss, but it marked yet another year in which his Arsenal side fell short.
