PSG 0 – 1 Liverpool: Reds beat PSG in smash-and-grab win
Liverpool spent most of last night’s Champions League last 16 (first leg) soaking up the pressure from the home side, PSG. The Paris team dominated the game with 27 shots, but Liverpool’s hero goalkeeper Alisson was up to the task, making nine incredible saves.
Despite all the possession, the hosts could not find the back of the net – and Liverpool, in the 87th minute, pulled off the ultimate cheeky steal, with only their second shot all match, Harvey Elliot smashed the ball into the net with his first touch.
Elliot, who came on to replace Mo Salah, left PSG in shock, and how they failed to score will be discussed by every fan and pundit across football.
Liverpool’s Alisson deserves all the praise because despite all the reasons PSG should have won, they didn’t – and that’s all down to the keeper and his golden gloves.
Liverpool will host the second leg next Tuesday at Anfield.
