Hundreds to wed as Thailand legalises same-sex marriage

In Thailand, the same-sex marriage law took effect Thursday, allowing Thai actors Apiwat “Porsch” Apiwatsayree and Sappanyoo “Arm” Panatkool to wed. The couple, dressed in matching beige suits, received their pink-bordered certificates in Bangkok, making Thailand the largest Asian nation to recognise equal marriage rights, including for transgender individuals, and extending adoption and inheritance rights to all married couples.
