Figa Flawas, Miki Núñez, Mushkaa and Julieta triumph at the Nit d’Els40 | News from Catalonia

This Tuesday, the iconic El Molino venue in Barcelona hosted the first edition of La Nit d’Els40 to recognize Catalan music in 2024. Figa Flawas has been crowned best Catalan group of the year. The young urban music band has taken a giant step in their musical career thanks to what has been the success of the summer, their song Marina is brunetteselected as the best song or loop song.

Miki Núñez was another of the stars of the night, having been awarded as Artista CAN40a podcast dedicated exclusively to music in Catalan that has evolved naturally to become established on the radio. The event was hosted by Sergi Sánchez, coordinator and announcer of Els40, who highlighted the rapid evolution of this project. He has done so accompanied by the station’s announcers such as Víctor De la Torre, Adrià Soler, Adrià Ortega, Uri Mora, Neus González, Josep Bartomeus and Arnau Gascon, as well as by content creators such as Núria Casas, Raquel Martínez, Maria Vallespí, Farners Pei Hong and Gerard Querol.

Among the winners, Mushkaa and Julieta stand out. The two artists have received the award for best collaboration for their song What a mess. Julieta has dazzled with a second prize, best song dancehis hit titled Lokura. The award for best album went to Els Catarres for Invincible. The gala has also recognized the heart-stopping year of Joan Dausà, who won the award for best tour or concert, while Mama Dousha has been awarded as musical phenomenon of the year for having established itself on the Catalan scene. Other winners have been Buhos, with Attitude as the song that has managed to move the audience the most, and Suu, awarded with the best pop song, for Things happen.

Among the most anticipated moments of the night were performances by artists such as Beth, Dani6ix & Izzkid, Figa Flawas with Litus, Flashy Ice Cream, Lal’Ba, Joan Dausà and Miki Núñez, who presented his new solo song. Finally, emotion filled the room when the special prize was awarded for the 20th anniversary of the album. TV3’s Marathonwhich will make its usual collection, this year dedicated to research into respiratory diseases.
