Alison Hammond has been left less than impressed after her son revealed she ‘farts in the cinema’.
The This Morning presenter, 49, was one of the guests on Romesh Ranganathan’s new quiz show, Parents’ Evening tonight.
The panel show sees three famous faces team up with their sons, daughters, mums or dads, with their family members then having to determine how many answers to questions their loved one might know.
The premiere episode saw Alison and her son Aidan, 19, appear alongside Iain Stirling and his mum Alison and Carol Vorderman and her son Cameron.
During one of the segments, the teams were challenged with determining whether their loved ones could link movie titles with a list of spoilers.
Speaking to Alison first, Romesh asked whether she thought her son was up to the task.
‘We do like to go to the cinema a lot, but I don’t know what it is about a cinema, but when I go, I always end up sleeping, she admitted.
‘I can’t help it. It’s that dark environment and I just end up sleeping.’
‘And farting!’ Aidan jumped in, leaving the panel and studio audience in fits of laughter.
Looking shocked by her son’s quip, she jokingly told him: ‘Remember the Hammond brand Aidan!’
The comment from Aidan could have been his chance at getting one up on his mum after she repeatedly sat him out of the game believing he wouldn’t be able to do well in several rounds.
It became a running joke throughout, so that when she did give him a chance to test his knowledge she joked: ‘I will believe in my son for once.’
Offering his support to the teenager, Romesh also said: ‘I think you’ve got this. Something your mum has never said.’
After Aidan was in fact able to successfully name five Mario Kart characters, his mum said she ‘always knew he was a genius’.
The pair eventually also managed to win the contest, with their prize money going to the British Liver Trust.
Earlier this year her This Morning co-star Rylan Clark also shamed Alison publicly after revealing she was his ‘worst houseguest ever’.
Speaking on an episode of the ITV morning programme, he explained what Alison did to deserve the title.
‘She’d obviously had a couple of little beverages when she stayed at my house and forgot to take her make-up off and the following day when I walked past her bed, it looked like Alison was still in the bed,’ he revealed.
He then joked that ‘her whole face was on the pillow.’
Romesh Ranganathan’s Parents’ Evening continues next Saturday at 9.05pm on ITV1.
