Nile Rodgers and Chic give Glasgow a musical masterclass as they perform at TRNSMT
Bringing the disco vibe to TRNSMT with Chic, the 69-year-old took fans on a nostalgic trip performing I Want Your Love and Freak Out.
He then proved his legendary status as he belted out the songs he wrote and produced for other artists which included everything from the Diana Ross hits I’m Coming Out and Upside Down to David Bowie’s Modern Love and Let’s Dance.
Surrounded by the soulful voices of Chic, Rodgers looked effortlessly cool as he showed off his musicianship on the guitar.
He then revealed Madonna’s Like A Virgin was the biggest album of his career.
He told the crowd, “Back in the early 80s. I met a young woman named Madonna. We got together and worked on an album,” before playing Like a Virgin and Material Girl.
Declaring that he is a two-time cancer survivor, he told the crowd he felt “lucky” as he introduced the Pharrell Williams chart-topper Get Lucky.
Fans young and old lapped up every second of the hour-long set before he finished in style with Good Times.
