Heartbreaking tributes at vigil for three girls killed at Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport

MOURNERS have gathered at a vigil to pay tribute to three girls killed in the Southport stabbing attack.

Hundreds rallied together in solidarity outside The Aktinson art gallery in Merseyside to pay their respects after the knife rampage yesterday.

Large crowds joined in a minute of silence to pay tribute to Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar.

Some lit candles while others lay flowers and reflected on yesterday’s tragedy.

The mayor of Sefton, June Burns, told the vigil that the scale of the tragedy “hit her” when she laid flowers at the scene thinking about how the children involved were at a Taylor Swift dance class.

“It really gets you, you can’t help but cry because of the outpouring of grief.”

Violent mob clashes with riot cops and set police vans on fire outside mosque near scene of horror Southport stabbing

POLICE vans were set on fire as cops clashed with rioters outside a mosque in Southport near the scene of a horror stabbing that left three dead.

Large crowds fought with officers in the Merseyside town not far from where three children were killed in a sickening knife rampage on Monday.

Shocking footage from the scene showed bottles and bricks being thrown at police vans as other projectiles hurtled through the air.

Merseyside Police said that the English Defence League was believed to be behind the violent protests.

It comes as tensions run high in the town following a stabbing attack, where three children were killed while attending a Taylor Swift-themed yoga and dance workshop.

Speculation about the alleged attacker’s identity circulated online, fuelling the tension that already existed after Monday’s horrific attack.

Suspect in Southport knife horror ‘is Cardiff-born karate-loving teen who moved to area with parents aged seven’

THE teenager suspected of knifing to death three children in a stabbing frenzy trained in karate and was a recluse, neighbours revealed yesterday.

The 17-year-old, currently being quizzed by cops for murder and attempted murder, was born in Cardiff in 2006 after his parents, currently in their 40s, moved from Rwanda.

Yesterday a neighbour who lived close to him in the farming village of Banks, Lancs, described him as an introvert who was “clingy” to his mother.

They said his family moved to the area in 2013 when he was aged just seven.

His quiet cul-de-sac – four miles from the scene of the tragedy – remained cordoned off yesterday as police continued to search the £80,000 semi-detached property.

Neighbours spoke of their shock, describing the parents – a Christian “hard-working father and stay-at-home mother” – as “very normal”.
