‘Tourists go home!’: Mass tourism exasperates locals in Europe and beyond
Spain saw an additional 24 million tourists in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period the previous year, marking an annual increase of 14.5 percent. This surge comes after the country had already recorded an all-time high in international visitors in 2023.
