But the star, 27, was unaware and danced on in pain with partner Graziano Di Prima until they were eliminated. Zara only recently revealed the injury to the show inquiry.
After the injury, Zara needed painkillers to get through ten-hour training sessions.
The ex-Love Islander told her pro partner — disgraced Graziano Di Prima — of her agony ahead of last series’ Halloween special.
The pair agreed to plough on before losing a dance-off — with Zara then going to hospital.

Lieutenant Colonel Teeton, 47, cuddles wife Eileen and, in another shot, smiles in military camouflage and beret.
She fought with his attacker, while her piercing cries for help were captured on a neighbour’s doorbell camera.
Yesterday a friend said: “Eileen is a lovely lady and was in the military wives’ choir. She always pops into the community centre.
“As soon as I heard the wife jumped in to save her husband I immediately thought of her — she’s the one who came to mind.”

The six-time Olympic medallist, 39, pulled out of the upcoming Paris Games this week after a disturbing clip emerged online showing her striking a horse 25 times with a large whip.
The 60-second video, taken during a lesson with a then 19-year-old rider at a private stables, came to light via a whistleblower just days before the start of the Olympics.
Stephan Wensing, the whistleblower’s lawyer, has said his client published the damning clip from a few years ago because she feels strongly about mistreatment of horses in dressage.
