Girl, 11, told her entire family had died in A61 crash during harrowing dinner table phone call
An 11-year-old girl “lost her whole world in an instant” when her family was wiped out in a fireball horror crash.
Six people died in what police described as a “truly horrendous collision” on a rural road between Barnsley and Wakefield. The devastating crash left a little girl orphaned, after her mum Shannen Morgan, 30, dad Shane Roller, 33 and her sisters Lillie, four, and Rubie, aged nine, all died at the scene on the A61.
The family had been out for a Sunday walk before their car collided with a motorbike, driven by a man and woman, on Sunday afternoon, who also died. Little Poppie Roller only escaped death after asking to stay at a pal’s house to play, it emerged later.
Kamala Harris gives warning to Donald Trump as she breaks cover
Kamala Harris has insisted she can beat Donald Trump as Democrats rallied behind her yesterday.
The Vice President paid tribute to Joe Biden as she made her first appearance since he abandoned his re-election bid.
At an event on the White House lawn, she said his legacy in the top job was “unmatched in modern history”. She argued that in one term he has achieved more than many two-term presidents. “I am firsthand witness that every day, our President Joe Biden fights for the American people,” she said. “And we are deeply, deeply grateful for his service to our nation.”
Ms Harris, 59, was delivering a speech at an event for college athletes at the White House that Mr Biden was unable to attend as he’s isolating with coronavirus. She did not make any mention of her own election bid during her address, but in a confident message to supporters, she tweeted: “Together, we’re going to win this.”
BBC breaks silence as Strictly’s Janette Manrara is latest star accused
The BBC has spoken out after Janette Manara became the latest Strictly Come Dancing star to be called out by a former dance partner.
Will Bayley has said he suffered a serious and lifelong injury while performing a jump on the BBC’s flagship show when he was partnered with the It Takes Two host and has claimed there was “no duty of care”.
Responding to his comment, a BBC spokesperson said: “We have longstanding protocols for dealing with injuries if they occur and that includes contestants receiving all necessary treatment and support as required.”
Paralympian Will has said producers were told the jump from a table during a routine was too dangerous, but he was encouraged to do it anyway and after he was injured show bosses made him feel like it was his fault.

Tuesday’s front pages, for the second day, are heavily dominated by US politics. Many broadsheets turn their focus to Vice President Kamala Harris as millions of dollars in donations to the Democrats have started to pour in, and Democratic heavyweights throw their support behind the VP.
The UK tabloids are less focused on US politics and look a little closer to home with various domestic stories featured as the leads.
The back pages are focused on Premier League gossip and the upcoming Paris Olympics.
