    The Observer – Labour makes working-class children key to school reform

    Labour will make “working-class children key to schools reform”, says The Observer. In her first newspaper interview, the new education secretary,  Bridget Phillipson, told the paper she wants to “break the link between background and success”.

    Elsewhere, the paper reports that US President Joe Biden is continuing to resist calls for his resignation after saying he looks forward to being back on the campaign trail after he’s recovered from Covid.
