Britain’s Got Talent accused of stealing ideas from Strictly Come Dancing with major change

Britain’s Got Talent is set to shake things up by taking a leaf out of Strictly Come Dancing’s book for its 2025 series, with plans to film auditions in the glitzy town of Blackpool, mirroring Strictly’s iconic live shows at the famous seaside resort.

The hit ITV talent show is rumoured to be heading to Blackpool for a significant portion of its next series’ auditions, following in the footsteps of Strictly Come Dancing, which annually dazzles audiences with a special episode from the coastal town. The Sun reports that the BGT judges’ panel, featuring Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell, and Bruno Tonioli, might even grace the legendary Tower Ballroom, a venue synonymous with Strictly.

An insider revealed to The Sun: “Strictly’s annual jaunt to Blackpool is one of the show’s ‘special moments’ and is widely seen as a milestone for the contestants.” They added, “But now that trip will be replicated by its ITV rival, there’s little doubt they’re trying to encroach on their territory. It’s yet another move to take on the dominance of Strictly on Saturday night telly.”

The publications argue the economy the Tories inherited from the last Labour government – in 2010 – was far worse than today’s situation.

Elsewhere, England’s upcoming Euros semi-finals make several tabloid front pages – and not surprisingly, dominates the back pages.
