    Daily Express – Vote Tory

    July 4, 2024

Thursday is “a day of reckoning,” according to the Daily Express. The paper says the Tory party “faces a punishing pounding at the ballot box” and adds: “We believe Labour’s unchecked power would diminish this great country of ours.”

The time for debate is over… The Express says: Vote Tory or hand Labour unchecked power

The clamour of debate and dispute is over. The hour of decision has arrived. As the politicians finally leave the stage after six weeks of campaigning, it is now up to the British people to choose who governs our great country and perhaps more importantly who provides the effective opposition.

Every General Election is important in setting the nation’s course. But no contest in modern times has been more momentous than this one. Its outcome looks likely to transform Britain’s political landscape, causing the biggest realignment in our two-party system for at least a century.

If the opinion polls are remotely accurate, then history could be made on an epic scale today, with Labour achieving by far the greatest landslide since Britain became a democracy.

The only real fight yet to be won now is the battle to ensure there is an effective opposition to properly hold Sir Keir Starmer to account.

The experience was jarring. We began by spending hours on the Tory battle bus driving to an unknown location in Hampshire. All we knew was that based on the size of the houses in this leafy part of deepest darkest ex-Tory heartland, the Conservatives really are in trouble if it’s the location of their final day campaigning.

Furious Nigel Farage blasts Reform UK ‘shambles’ as he hesitates to answer key question

Nigel Farage has questioned the management of Reform UK before his takeover last month, saying the party was a “shambles”.

The Clacton parliamentary candidate admitted his “shock” at the state of the party and said he “didn’t quite know what I was inheriting a month ago”.

When asked whether he would have still taken the top job had he known about the issues Reform UK was grappling with, he appeared hesitant to answer.

The Right-wing party has been rocked by a series of defections this week, with two candidates switching their support to the Conservative Party while denouncing the noxious internal environment.

‘General election 2024: Britain decides its future’ - Paper Talk

    Editorial 04 July 2024.

Thursday’s front pages report on election day! The papers declare their support for their political parties. In the latest blow to the Conservative Party, the Sun has backed Labour.

The pressure growing on US President Joe Biden to step aside also finds space on a few front pages ahead of a Friday interview and rally that the Biden team will help settle the nerves of donors and voters. The concerns over Biden’s fitness for office come following a disastrous TV debate.

The back pages lead on the England football team ahead of Saturday’s Euros Quarter-finals against Switzerland.
