Plane diverted to Brazil after turbulence injures 30
A flight experiencing “strong turbulence” made an emergency landing in Brazil, injuring 30 people.
The Air Europa Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, flying from Madrid to Montevideo, encountered turbulence over the Atlantic near the Brazilian coast. The flight, UX045, was diverted to Natal in northeastern Brazil.
The airline reported that injured passengers received medical attention. The plane, carrying 325 passengers, landed safely and was met by ambulances. Some passengers required hospital treatment for head injuries, including cranial fractures and facial cuts.
