Mercedes Unveils Fastest Accelerating AMG Model Yet: The GT 63 S Coupe
Mercedes has just revealed the highly anticipated GT 63 S Coupe, which is set to be the fastest accelerating AMG series model to date. This powerhouse of a car is equipped with a 4.0-litre biturbo engine paired with an electric motor, producing an impressive 804bhp and 1,420Nm of torque.
With a 0-60mph time of just 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 198mph, the GT 63 S Coupe is sure to turn heads on the road. The electric motor, located at the rear axle, adds an extra 201bhp to the mix and features an electrically switched two-speed transmission for optimal performance.
In addition to its impressive powertrain, the GT 63 S Coupe comes standard with a limited-slip differential and Mercedes’ 4Matic+ four-wheel-drive system for maximum traction. The car also boasts a 6.1kWh battery pack, offering up to 8 miles of electric driving range.
Drivers can choose from eight different AMG driving programs, including options like ‘Electric’, ‘Sport’, ‘Race’, and more. The GT 63 S Coupe also features active rear-axle steering, enhancing agility at lower speeds and stability at higher speeds.
On the exterior, the GT 63 S Coupe sports grooved twinned trapezoidal tailpipes, 21-inch alloy wheels, and an integrated charging flap. Inside, drivers can enjoy AMG sports seats in various patterns and trim designs, including luxurious Nappa leather options.
While Mercedes has yet to announce the official pricing for the GT 63 S Coupe, the standard GT63 starts at £165,000, suggesting that the E Performance model could reach closer to the £200,000 mark.
