    Healy-Rae Plant Hire Ltd receives payment of over €250,000 from Council

    Healy-Rae Plant Hire Ltd, owned by TD Danny Healy-Rae and operated by his sons Johnny Healy-Rae and Dan Healy-Rae, has earned over €250,000 from Kerry County Council in 2023. The figures were released on request from Independent Killarney councillor Brendan Cronin.

    A total of 52 plant hire and haulage contractors and rental car companies received payments from the council, with some of the largest payees including Clancy Plant Hire, Sandmore Ltd, Mike Cronin & Sons Ltd, Nicholas Browne & Son Limited, and Eamon and Seamus Hobbins Ltd.

    Healy-Rae Plant Hire Ltd received €250,813 from the council, with Councillor Brendan Cronin stating that there were no issues with the payments but it was important for the public to have access to the figures.

    Healy-Rae Plant Hire Ltd is a third-generation family business established in 1956 and employs over 70 people. The company specializes in civil engineering, haulage, site clearing, road making, and pipe laying, with a focus on wastewater and sewage projects. They have worked with various clients including Uisce Eireann, Cork, Limerick, and Clare County Councils, Coillte, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, and BAM Ireland.

    The company has a long-standing history in the industry and has been involved in significant projects such as the construction of a pilot 10-acre wetland project in Lixnaw, Co Kerry. With a dedicated workforce and a strong reputation in the field, Healy-Rae Plant Hire Ltd continues to be a key player in the construction and civil engineering sector.
