The Guardian – Biden demands Gaza ceasefire in strongest rebuke yet to Israel
US President Joe Biden has called for an “immediate ceasefire” in Gaza and demanded Israel takes “concrete steps” to avoid civilian harm, according to The Guardian. The paper labels this his “strongest rebuke yet.” The US president said his country’s support for Israel would depend on steps being taken to “address civilian harm” and “humanitarian suffering” in Gaza.
Elsewhere, the paper offers up its review of the new Netflix show – Scoop – based on the famous BBC interview with Prince Andrew, in which Emily Maitlis questioned Andrew over his relationship with American convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein.
