Need for political cohesion stressed at Pakistan Day reception in Washington was on top of the agenda as the Pakistani diplomacy team are hurrying to quash all PTI claims to ensure the flow of aid.
Ambassador Khan assured the audience both sides were working to recalibrate ties structured around trade, investment, green energy, healthcare, education, and science and technology.
The ambassador ensured to stress that the previous protests by ‘PTI fanatics’ and the disruption of the relationship between Pakistan and United States was a thing of the past.
USAID a top priority for Pakistan
USAID is a top priority for Pakistan along with IMF loans, the country relies on them to survive. And the Ambassador emphasised the special relationship between the two nations on Pakistan Day.

The other speaker, USAID Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia Michael Schiffer, emphasised Pakistan’s long-term development aspirations. “Enhancing Pakistan’s economic growth is a bedrock of our work,” he declared.
Mr Schiffer dangles the carrot for Pakistan
Mr Schiffer identified “sustainable economic growth, greater access to energy, gender equality, strengthening peace and inclusion, education, and health” as shared objectives.
Ambassador Khan said, “Together, we would continue to work for regional and global security and counter transnational threats, especially terrorism.”
The event hosted all the important stakeholders, over 450 guests, including ambassadors and high-ranking officials from the US State Department, the World Bank, IMF, and vetted members of the Pak-American community, attended the event.
