Mirror Sport – Battle to avoid the drop heats up: Forest Felled

Premier League relegation: AI predicts who’s going down after Nottingham Forest points deduction
Nottingham Forest have been deducted four points by the Premier League for breaking profit and sustainability rules – and now find themselves on course for relegation, according to AI.
The East Midlands side today learnt that they were being docked points for breaking the permitted limit of losses across a three-year cycle. And that leaves Nuno Espirito Santo’s team facing a daunting battle to preserve their top-flight status.
Their deduction follows Everton’s punishment for a breach of the same regulations. The Goodison Park club were initially stripped of 10 points but had four of those reinstated last month following an appeal. But Sean Dyche’s team are now four points clear of Forest, who have fallen behind Luton Town and into 18th place, though the Merseyside club could still face an additional punishment in the coming weeks. Everton also have a game in hand.

Bruno Fernandes gives Man Utd green light to complete £100m transfer – “He is ready”
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes believes Joao Neves is “ready” to make a big move this summer, with the Red Devils among a host of clubs interested in the midfielder.
Neves has impressed since breaking into Benfica’s first team last season and the 19-year-old has already earned three caps for Portugal. Reports have claimed that United are willing to pay around £100m for Neves this summer, with the club’s new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe identifying midfield as an area they need to improve.
In an interview with Portuguese broadcaster Sport TV while away on international duty, Fernandes was asked about Neves being linked with a move to Old Trafford. “I don’t know if United rumours are true, but I know he is ready for that big jump,” Fernandes replied.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe sets out new Man Utd transfer plan and aims dig at the Glazers
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has set out a plan for Manchester United to avoid spending large amounts of money on a small group of ‘great players’.
Instead, the Red Devils’ new co-owner wants the club to focus on bringing in the right people behind the scenes before turning to recruitment. Ratcliffe has already appointed Sir Dave Brailsford to be his man on the ground in Manchester.
United have also appointed Omar Berrada as chief executive, with the current Manchester City chief set to take on his role in the summer. To complete the initial drive, Dan Ashworth is edging closer to taking over as sporting director.
