Russia says it intercepts 38 Ukrainian drones attacking Crimea
Crimea has experienced a series of explosions following a reported Ukrainian drone attack on the peninsula, annexed by Russia in 2014.
Video footage online shows a blast near a fuel depot in the city of Feodosiya in southeastern Crimea.
Russian authorities claim to have shot down 38 drones, prompting a temporary closure of the Kerch bridge linking Crimea to Russia.
The attack coincides with Ukraine’s appeals for increased arms support from allies.
Russian forces have made recent advances in Ukraine, with Kyiv struggling to equip its troops with Western-made arms.
Moscow seized control of the key eastern town of Avdiivka last month.
However, British military intelligence reports indicate heavy losses for the Russians, with February marking the deadliest month since the full-scale invasion began in 2022, averaging 983 casualties per day.
