Kylian Mbappe agrees Real Madrid deal to join in summer

Kylian Mbappe, the striker for Paris St-Germain, has reached an agreement to join Real Madrid this upcoming summer. At 25 years old, the French captain has informed PSG of his decision to depart the club, with his contract expiring in June.

Although Mbappe has not yet finalised a contract with Real Madrid, the announcement of the deal may occur once it becomes impossible for the clubs to face each other in the current season’s Champions League.

As PSG’s all-time leading scorer with 244 goals, Mbappe expressed his desire to have his future resolved before March. On February 13th, prior to training, he met with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and conveyed his decision to leave for Real Madrid.

Following reports circulating last Thursday regarding his departure, Mbappe was omitted from the starting lineup for Saturday’s match against Nantes. However, he entered the game as a substitute and scored a penalty, aiding PSG in extending their lead to 14 points atop Ligue 1.

The impending agreement with Real Madrid is expected to span five years, with Mbappe set to earn €15 million (£12.8 million) annually. Additionally, he will receive a signing-on bonus of €150 million (£128 million) payable over five years, along with maintaining a portion of his image rights.
