The Sunday Telegraph reports that Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has warned of the security “risks” of “bad faith politics”, in what the paper suggests is a “barely-concealed rebuke” aimed at Donald Trump over his recent comments about NATO.
Speaking to the paper, Sir Keir says he told European leaders at the Munich Security Conference that he would seek to “rebuild, renew, and resource” the alliance instead of trying to “divide and threaten” it. The paper calls the comment a “thinly-veiled” reference to a recent warning by the former US president that he would “not protect” Nato members who failed to meet the bloc’s defence spending targets.
