The Independent leads on Commons leader Penny Mordaunt who said Prime Minister Rishi Sunak ‘should reflect on’ gender jibe made in the House of Commons during Wednesday’s PMQs.
No 10 and the PM have rejected calls to apologise after Sunak made the jibe in front of Brianna Ghey’s mother – who was in the House during the session.
Ghey – a transgender teenager – was murdered by two fellow teenagers last year, her transgender identity was in part the reason for the horror, a court concluded.
The PM has faced widespread backlash for his comments.
The front page is shared with an image of Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor, who’s suffering from cancer. He has written an open letter to King Charles praising his honesty over his own cancer diagnosis.
