Christine McGuinness had reportedly hired a ‘pitbull’ divorce lawyer following her split from Paddy McGuinness.
The lawyer Catherine Bedford has previously helped makeup artist Lisa Armstrong, who allegedly got £31 million in her divorce from presenter Ant McPartlin, and is currently representing actor Sophie Turner as she divorces singer Joe Jonas.
The senior partner at London law firm Harbottle and Lewis, who has been described as a ‘pitbull’ by the media, is said to be representing model Christine, 35, tomorrow.
‘Christine really wanted to work with a woman during her divorce and Catherine is one of the best in the business,’ a source told The Sun.
It is claimed former Real Housewives of Cheshire star Christine is determined to remain in the £4 million six-bedroom Cheshire mansion, which includes a swimming pool, that she shares with the comedian.
The source added that she has spent years putting ‘hours of love, care and attention’ into her home: ‘It would be heartbreaking to have to leave the property after all this time and uproot her life.’

‘It’s already difficult enough to navigate a divorce without the stress of selling the property,’ it continued.
On her firm’s website Bedford’s bio includes: ‘Depending on each client’s needs, Catherine’s approach is tailor made – whether that be successful negotiating outside of the court process or tough litigating within it.
‘Her work frequently involves high net worth individuals, ranging from high-flying CEOs and investment bankers, to sports stars and entertainers.
‘Catherine specialises in complex financial matters, frequently advising her clients with regard to assets and trust structures, including locating hidden assets.’

Paddy, 50, and Christine, who met at a fashion show in 2007, announced their split after 11 years of marriage in 2022. In a joint statement, they said: ‘We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.’
They share three children – twins Penelope and Leo, 10, and Felicity, seven – who they previously revealed were unaware of their split.
The former couple may have broken up but they are open with each other about their dating lives because they ‘talk an awful lot’.
Former A Question of Sport host Paddy recently shared a cryptic couples post, which sparked rumours of a new relationship. While Christine took a trip to Amsterdam with Chelcee Grimes, and shared a collection of snaps on Instagram. In one photo Christine placed her hand on Chelcee’s thigh as the singer stuck her tongue out.
