Jose Mourinho is favourite to join the Saudi Pro League after he was sacked by Roma on Tuesday.
The 60-year-old spent two-and-a-half years at Roma and guided the club to their first European trophy in 61 years by winning the Europa Conference League in May 2022.
But a run of one win in five games, which included three defeats, has led Roma to cut ties with Mourinho this week.
Roma’s former captain and midfield lynchpin, Daniele De Rossi is the frontrunner to replace Mourinho as manager and is meeting with the Italian club’s hierarchy on Tuesday.
Mourinho is now a free agent and the Portuguese’s next destination, according to Sky Bet, is likely to be the Saudi Pro League.
The former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham manager rejected lucrative offers from Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal last summer.

But speaking in October, Mourinho made it clear that he expects to manage in Saudi Arabia.
‘I will go to Saudi Arabia in some free time, but I am convinced that I will work there. I don’t know when but I am pretty sure of it,’ Mourinho said.
‘I am committed to my work with Roma and I want to give everything to the club until the last day.
‘No one knows the future but I will definitely do this [working in Saudi Arabia].’

Mourinho is also in the running to become the head coach of Portugal’s national team, although the job availability will depend on how they fare under Roberto Martinez at Euro 2024 this summer.
Mourinho had also been linked with Brazil’s national team last year but the five-time World Cup winners hired Dorival Junior last week.
