Sir David Jason rolled back the years and looked in good spirits as he continued his recent recovery from hip surgery.
The legendary Only Fools and Horses actor, 83, was spotted out and about a fan convention for the BBC sitcom, which originally ran from 1981 to 1991.
And fans were no doubt delighted to see Sir David, an actor and star for over 60 years, back on his feet and donning the famous flat cap and leather jacket at the Milton Keynes venue.
The convention itself had to be rearranged back in August 2023 when it was revealed that the A Touch of Frost actor needed a surgery for a new hip.
Now he’s on the mend – following an outrageous and dramatic clip of him throwing his crutches to the floor – it’s clear that he’s back doing what he does best.
On X (formerly Twitter), those in attendance at the Only Fools and Horses convention were delighted to see their main man, with the actor stopping for chats and selfies over the course of the day.

One account, dedicated to a podcast about the comedy series, said, ‘Great to see the main man Sir David Jason at this weekend’s convention, also in Del Boy attire!’ before asking others for their experiences of the day.
Another X account, dedicated to a podcast about One Foot in the Grave, caught footage of the moment that the Open All Hours actor auctioned off the very flat cap he was wearing.
‘The very hat David Jason was wearing was being auctioned as donated by the man himself. This him hearing the bidding war for this sought after item. Del Boy in the flesh was absolutely incredible.’
Craig Morgan posted a sweet picture of him meeting Sir David and said: ‘A dream come true to meet Sir David Jason/Del Boy. What a great guy! A moment I’ll never forget.’
Sir David’s big return to public life was celebrated by Ben Daniels, another Only Fools devotee, who said: ‘A pleasure meeting Sir David Jason today, an absolute gent he really is. Shall never forget the moment we shook hands and started chatting.’
In November 2023, as the show’s lead star was recovering from surgery, a long-lost prop from the series was recovered from a bin and auctioned off.
An original bottle of Peckham Spring Water, a fictional brand which was featured in a Christmas special for the show in 1992, was sold by an auctioneer in Bristol.
The bottle was kept by a camera operator after he’d finished working in the studio – it wasn’t thought to be of any major value until its owner realised it was from the set of the long-running BBC comedy.
Only Fools and Horses is available to stream on Britbox.
