Sinéad O’Connor’s cause of death has been confirmed after the singer died at the age of 56.
In July last year, police officers were called to her home in London after she was found ‘unresponsive’.
Her family later released a statement expressing their heartbreak, which read: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad.
‘Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.’
A friend of the Irish music legend recently claimed that she ‘died of a broken heart’ following the death of her 17-year-old son, Shane.
A spokesperson for the Southwark Coroner’s Court has now stated that she died of ‘natural causes’.

In a statement, they said: ‘This is to confirm that Ms O’Connor died of natural causes.
‘The coroner has therefore ceased their involvement in her death.’
