Feud rumours between Amanda Abbington and Giovanni Pernice have reignited after claims she’s seeking legal advice.
The Doctor Who actress, 51, and pro dancer, 33, were paired for the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing, which saw Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola lift the glitterball trophy.
After just weeks in the competition and rumours of a behind-the-scenes clash, Amanda shockingly quit and now further allegations have emerged.
Here’s everything we know so far.

Just weeks after Amanda and Giovanni were paired up on the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, there were already claims she was threatening to quit before the first live show of the season.
A source had claimed the pair were not getting along and had already had a series of arguments, with Amanda apparently unhappy with Gio’s ‘militant’ attitude to training.
Although things were said to be ‘incredibly tense’ between them, a representative for Amanda told Metro.co.uk that this was untrue.
A source had claimed to The Sun that Giovanni can have an ‘incredibly brusque’ manner as he takes Strictly ‘very seriously’ and that Amanda had found this ‘difficult to handle.’
They claimed she was ‘shaken’ and had ‘liaised with her team about quitting’ as it has already ‘become far more stressful than she ever imagined,’ though this was later denied to Metro.co.uk.

Amanda hit out at the ‘b******s’ rumours that she threatened to quit while Giovanni shares his pride at his dance partner
After the reports, Amanda shared an expletive-ridden rant on Instagram, hitting out at the ongoing rumours.
‘I’m wearing my jacket that says “Who cares what other people think?”‘ said, making a face at the camera.
‘It’s all fun,’ she went on. ‘Ignoring the bulls**t. Cleary, because people are t***s. Just stop. Stop it, you know who you are.
‘Stop it, grow up, stop it. No one gives a s***. And shut up, it’s b******s, so shut up. You know who I’m talking to, jog on. It’s nonsense and you know it’s nonsense. So that’s it!’
Meanwhile, Giovanni opted to address the speculation by making things clear everything was fine between the pair, as he re-shared an image from Amanda’s Instagram with a sweet message.

He wrote: ‘I usually don’t say those things early (as probably everybody knows) but I am extremely proud of you and I can’t wait for people to watch what we have created.’
Beside the picture, Amanda had written: ‘The smile you give your pro partner at the end of the camera rehearsal when you know you are in safe and hugely talented hands.’
Amanda shockingly quits Strictly Come Dancing – and snubs Giovanni
While things onscreen seemed to be going well between the pair, after missing their week five performance due to ‘medical reasons’, Amanda shockingly quit Strictly.
She later expressed her ‘deep regret’ over leaving the programme, and cited ‘personal reasons’ for her exit.
She called the experience of working with her fellow contestants ‘an absolute joy’ and praised the ‘incredible’ production team and ‘everyone on Strictly who looked after me and who are so kind and caring’.
But, fans noticed one person was missing from her message – Giovanni, though he did comment: ‘Amanda .. I am so sad we can’t continue but I am proud of what we achieved and I am sending you so much love.’

Giovanni was ‘frustrated’ at Amanda during their final Strictly performance
During her final Strictly performance before quitting, Amanda was said to be looking ‘very anxious’ while Giovanni was ‘frustrated’.
Metro.co.uk’s body language expert Judi James revealed: ‘There are a few gestures sprinkled over this last performance together that look designed to suggest there was still a close and caring relationship going on between the pair but they do look more like “going through the motions”, speedy performance rituals than signals of what should have been an intensifying friendship.’
Rumours Giovanni was ‘annoyed’ at Amanda over her exit
Following her exit, it was claimed Giovanni was ‘annoyed’ at Amanda over her exit, and reported that she didn’t forewarn him.
The pro dancer was allegedly told about her move by a producer for the BBC series over the phone, just hours before the news broke to the public.
A source claimed: ‘Amanda didn’t tell Giovanni she had decided to quit the show. The first he heard was a call from a producer.
‘This has really annoyed him.’
They added to The Daily Star that he ‘barely heard from her for 10 days.’
‘She hasn’t been replying to messages or telling him what’s happening. He’s been complaining about it to friends. He’s frustrated.’
At the time, Metro.co.uk contacted Giovanni’s representatives, who said: ‘This story is nonsense.’

Amanda ‘snubs’ Strictly as feud rumours continue
As rumours of the feud between the pair continued, it was revealed Amanda would not be returning for the Strictly final.
She later hinted that she felt ‘pushed over the edge’ warning people to ‘be kind’.
She said on her Boogaloo Radio show: ‘You don’t know what someone else is going through, you have no idea what’s going on in their life so before you say anything hateful and cruel just check yourself’.
She continued: ‘It takes so much more energy to be hateful, to be horrible, where you could just not say anything or say something positive.’
An insider had claimed to The Mirror at the time that despite ‘clashing at times’ Giovanni wished Amanda ‘all the best’, and BBC bosses had been keen to show there was ‘no bad blood’ between the pair.
However, it was later claimed that Amanda was not invited by the BBC to take part in the final night performance with the returning stars.
Metro.co.uk understands that it’s custom for celebrities who’ve withdrawn from Strictly not to return for the final.

Amanda ‘demands to see Strictly training footage and seeks legal advice’
Weeks after the Strictly final, rumours have reignited with recent claims stating Amanda reportedly demanded to see footage of herself training with Giovanni and is seeking legal advice.
A source told The Sun: ‘The BBC have received a request for the footage they hold of Amanda and Giovanni. It is known as a data subject access request.
‘There is a feeling that the recordings will lift the lid on what really goes on behind the scenes on Strictly. Things in rehearsals can become very tense.’
They stated that Giovanni, who they described as a ‘perfectionist’, can be ‘incredibly full-on’.
It was also alleged that Amanda ‘has been left broken and saddened by the whole experience’ of being on Strictly, and it’s ‘taken her months to get over what she went through’.
They claimed that the actress was ‘really stressed by having to spend eight hours a day with Giovanni’, and ‘spent a lot of time crying’.

Following the allegations, it was reported that Giovanni found ‘some of these allegations deeply unfair and offensive’.
A source added to The Sun: ‘He has had support from producers over what has happened recently and they are behind him.
‘A lot of the negativity seems to be born out of professional jealousy, especially among the other pro dancers because he went on to get his own TV show with Anton Du Beke.’
Metro.co.uk understands that no investigations have been launched the BBC into Giovanni’s conduct.
While Giovanni and Amanda have yet to speak out on the claims, one of his former dance partners has seemingly shared her support.
