Sandra Bullock has scattered the ashes of her late partner Bryan Randall following his death at the age of 57 in August last year.

The American actress, 59, confirmed the tragic news with ‘great sadness’ in a statement at the time. Randall died after a three-year battle with ALS, a motor neuron disease.

It was reported shortly afterward that the Gravity actress planned to scatter some of her long-term partner’s ashes in the Bahamas to mark his final resting spot.

An insider said at the time that, after the couple first met in 2015, they exchanged their informal ‘vows’ there in 2017 and frequently took family holidays there.

But Sandra appears to have had more than one final spot in mind for Randall, with her sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, confirming he was released in Wyoming.

Uploading a video to Instagram, the chef and TV personality, 53, captured a beautiful snowy scene on the banks of Snake River in the state’s Jackson area.

On the day that would have been Randall’s 58th birthday, she posted: ‘Happy birthday, Bry. Sandy brought you to the river, just as she promised.’

In response, a fan, Mary Ann Luongo, posted: ‘What a beautiful way to honor the man she loved. To honor his last wish! You are in my heart and prayers.’

The comment continued: ‘As difficult and sad it is to have lost someone so special I hope you find peace and can celebrate his life life. God Bless.’

Randall was diagnosed with ALS in 2020 and chose to keep his condition private, with the Miss Congeniality star saying she wanted to ‘honour his request’.

ALS stands for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a type of motor neuron disease, is a neurodegenerative condition that results in the progressive loss of muscle control.

Approximately 50% of patients will live beyond three years after diagnosis, while 25% live five years, and roughly 10% live for a further decade or more.

The couple met nine years ago when Randall, a photographer, oversaw a photoshoot for Sandra’s son Louis, who she adopted in 2010.

Sandra and Randall were parents to Louis, 13, Sandra’s daughter Laila, 11, and Randall’s older daughter, who was from a previous relationship.

Shortly after her partner’s death, Sandra was reported to be ‘grateful’ for the support she had received and felt ‘happy’ that people had chosen to donate to ALS charities.

An insider told People: ‘It was very important to her that when she and his family made the initial statement of Bryan’s passing, those who were on this journey with her and Bryan, from the beginning, were recognised.’
