Home and Away is set to go back to the very beginning, with a new TV station launching with classic episodes of the long-running soap on its very first day.
That’s TV 2, sister station of That’s TV, launched on Wednesday (January 3) with a host of classic telly on offer, including the long-running serial drama, with two vintage editions set to air nightly.
Home and Away, which returned with new episodes this week following a Christmas hiatus, first hit UK screens in 1989, one year after it commenced in Australia.
With That’s TV 2 having acquired the earlier offerings of the show, fans now have the rare opportunity to revisit the beginnings of Summer Bay and see how it all began.
Kris Vaiksalu, Head of Programming for That’s TV and That’s TV 2, said: ‘Over the past year That’s TV has reached new heights and we now have a schedule bursting with iconic TV shows from Benidorm to Shameless.
‘There are so many more iconic TV shows we would love to show but we had simply run out of hours to fit them in.

‘So I asked myself, what would Einstein do? It’s been a lot of work but we’re hugely excited and privileged to be launching That’s TV 2 as our second archive TV channel.’
That’s TV will also house re-runs of Prisoner: Cell Block H, which can also be streamed from the beginning on My5, and Baywatch.
Home and Away now joins the likes of Emmerdale, EastEnders, Coronation Street and Brookside and Neighbours, all of which are currently enjoying re-runs of previous eras of each respective show across various UK channels and seaming services.

The current run of the Aussie soap resumed on Channel 5 this week after going off the air in November for its Christmas break.
Fans were left on quite the cliffhanger at the time, with Leah Patterson (Ada Nicodemu) and Justin Morgan (James Stewart) left to die in a warehouse.
