Raphael Varane believes he’s been ‘pushed’ out of the club after the board decided against triggering a 12-month extension clause in his deal.
The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of the season and he’s free to sign a pre-contract agreement with non-English clubs.
That’s despite the fact that United had the option of triggering a 12-month extension clause in his deal, which would have seen his current deal extended until 2025.
However, United decided against that motion and they want Varane to extend his contract on reduced terms if he wishes to stay.
The defender earns around £300,000-a-week at Old Trafford but he’s been absent for seven matches this term, owing to several different injury problems.
United maintain they want Varane to stay but the Manchester Evening News say the Frenchman feels he’s being pushed out of the club.

Varane is yet to decide on his future, and will consider a new contract if the terms are satisfactory.
The defender is said to be happy at Old Trafford, and is settled in the north-west with his family.
But United need to reduce their wage bill to make room for new signings this summer.
The club were forced to sign Sergio Reguillon and Sofyan Amrabat on loan deals last summer as they were precariously close to breaking Financial Fair Play rules.
