McDonald’s fans demand soon-to-be-axed dessert stays on menu for 2024

McDonald’s fans are calling for a soon-to-be-axed dessert to remain on the menu in 2024.

Customers are calling for a festive menu fan favourite to stay when the fast food chain typically ditches its Christmassy items in early January.

When the New Year rolls in, McDonald’s will axe eight items from its menu – as per seasonal rotations – but people are now demanding the Galaxy Caramel Pie remains on it.

The decadent dessert has been a new addition to the McDonald’s menu this year – much to the delight of Maccies lovers nationwide.

A twist on the chain’s popular Apple Pie, it consists of crispy chocolate pastry filled with a Galaxy Caramel sauce, and comes in at £1.99.

The dessert has gone down a treat with customers – so much so, they’re now heartbroken to see it go and are instead calling for it to be a permanent fixture on the menu.

Some have even taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to air their frustrations and to plead with the fast food chain to reconsider the move.

One user said: ‘Petition for McDonald’s to sell the Galaxy Caramel Pies all year round.’

Another wrote: ‘McDonald’s never get rid of the Galaxy Caramel Pie – omg.’

Metro even tested it out earlier this year and agree with the general consensus, scoring the Galaxy Caramel Pie a solid 5/5.

Other goodies leaving the menu in January include The Big & Cheesy (£5.49 on its own), The Big & Cheesy with Bacon (£6.29), the Chicken Big Mac (£4.79) and the Cheese Melt Dippers with Rich Tomato Dip (£2.59).

What’s more, the McDonald’s Chicken Combo (£14.99), Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry (£1.49 (mini), and the Galaxy Caramel McFlurry (£1.49) will also say goodbye.
