Ryan Stocks (James Moore) was left shocked several months ago when he discovered that son Oscar (Harley Hamilton) was severely unwell in Emmerdale.

Gail Loman (Rachael Gill-Davis) and Ryan had Oscar adopted when he was born, but were recently contacted by his adoptive mother, Sophie (Martha Cope), who wanted them to be tested to see if they were a match for the stem cell treatment he needed.

Thankfully, Gail was a match and soon Oscar had undergone his treatment.

However, Gail and Ryan were then gutted to learn that Oscar didn’t want to get to know them, with Sophie informing them that it was too difficult for him.

What they didn’t know, though, is that she then told Oscar that it was Gail and Ryan who had found seeing him hard, which proved that she was lying to keep them apart.

In upcoming scenes, Oscar will take a trip to the Emmerdale village in order to meet with his birth parents.

Though Oscar assures Gail, Ryan and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) that Sophie knows about his visits, he is sheepish as they encourage him to go home.

Unfortunately, he is too late, as Sophie soon bursts furiously through the door to have it out with them.

Gail and Charity are left in shock as the argument intensifies, with Ryan finally unleashing his pent up hurt.

Ryan is left shocked when Gail forgives Sophie, but admits that they were upset to have been cut out of Oscar’s life, pointing out that the final decision should lie with him.

Having taken Oscar away to give the others space to talk, Charity finds herself unsure of how much to reveal to Oscar, especially as he begins probing Charity for answers about Ryan’s dad.

Viewers will know that Charity was abused by DI Bails as a teenager, and gave birth to Ryan aged 14 as a result.

With Mack Boyd’s (Lawrence Robb) advice to keep things simple in the back of her mind, Charity admits her age to her grandson, and he is soon able to work out what must have happened.

As Oscar reassures relieved Charity that he is glad his grandfather isn’t around, he and Sophie apologise to each other, and he is thrilled when she gives him the chance to see Gail and Ryan again.
