Mauricio Pochettino says he is enjoying ‘good communication’ with Chelsea’s sporting directors and the club are ‘more than open’ to improving the squad in January.
The Blues beat Crystal Palace on Wednesday, but it was just their seventh Premier League victory in 19 games over a difficult season so far.
This came after spending over £430m in the summer on new signings, but Pochettino says there could be more arrivals in January.
The Argentine also confirmed that he would be a part of any transfer decisions, saying he ‘cannot conceive the idea of not being involved’ and leaving decisions to the likes of sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley and co-director of recruitment and talent Joe Shields.
‘I cannot conceive the idea of not being involved,’ said the Chelsea boss. ‘It is not only about my advice. It is about sharing after six months together with the owners and sporting directors.
‘It is very good communication. We talk every single day. Of course, the decision that we are going to take is because we all agree.
‘If we detect something we need to improve, then we are more than open. We are very analytical and always analyse ourselves to help the club in the best way possible.’

After defeat to Everton earlier this month Pochettino made it clear he wanted to improve his options up front, happy with his team’s ability to create chances, but not how they have been finishing them off.
‘It’s about improving. We are talking after four, five months – 16 games – and it’s about assessing,’ he said after the 2-0 loss at Goodison Park.
‘If we are not able to score today with all the chances we had… we have to score if we want to win the game.
‘We want to be in a different position in the table. The team played well against a very difficult team like Everton. We were much better than them but you need to score.
‘After the first half of the season, we need to check. That is the reality. If we are not receiving enough, maybe we need to do some movement.
‘That is the thing to analyse with the sporting directors, to see if we can change this dynamic and improve in the second half of the season.
‘We need to be more aggressive. Then it’s a massive assessment and when the transfer window opens, we will see what we can do.’
