Donald Trump appeared in Home Alone 2 – but he didn’t ‘bully’ his way into the film, folks…
Cast your minds back to 1992, and one of the move beloved Christmas films drops for the first time ever in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
In it, Macaulay Culkin plays little eight year old Kevin McCallister who gets stuck alone in New York after accidentally boarding a flight there instead of Miami, where his family are spending Christmas.
Enter Donald Trump, 77, who appears in the film in a short 10-second cameo, as he directs lost Kevin to the lobby of the Plaza Hotel, which was at the time owned by the former president.
‘Down the hall, and to the left,’ Trump said. And that was that, until 2020 when director Chris Columbus claimed the republican ‘bullied his way into the movie’.
The Harry Potter director told Business Insider Trump’s cameo was a condition on them being able to film in his hotel, on top of the usual fee.

Now, Trump has responded (Picture: AP)
‘He did bully his way into the movie,’ said Columbus, who claimed Trump said: ‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie.’
Now, Trump has randomly hit back at the claim on social media platform Truth Social, claiming the film ‘begged’ him to make an appearance in it.
He wrote: ‘They rented the Plaza Hotel in New York, which I owned at the time.
‘I was very busy, and didn’t want to do it. They were very nice, but above all, persistent. I agreed, and the rest is history!’

He continued: ‘That little cameo took off like a rocket, and the movie was a big success, and still is, especially around Christmas time. People call me whenever it is aired.
‘Now, however, 30 years later, Columbus (what was his real name?) put out a statement that I bullied myself into the movie.
‘Nothing could be further from the truth.’
He questioned why the director kept him in the film for 30 years if that was the case, claiming his cameo ‘helped make the movie a success’.
‘Because I was, and still am, great for the movie, that’s why!’ Trump declared. ‘Just another Hollywood guy from the past looking for a quick fix of Trump publicity for himself!’
This comes after Piers Morgan got a little cross when fans again joked he was the ‘pigeon lady’ in that very same Home Alone film.
