TV star in tears over adorable Christmas Day proposal as she shows off huge ring

Congratulations are in order for The Traitors star Alex Duggan, as she’s revealed she’s engaged to her partner Tiffany Papaemanouil.

The loved-up pair shared an adorable video on Instagram, posting the Christmas Day proposal video and showing off the huge rock on Alex’s finger.

‘Aa forever thing… officially – 25/12/23,’ Alex wrote, as fans and friends rushed to congratulate them.

In the clip, as Tiffany got down on one knee and asked her girlfriend to marry her, Alex broke down in sobs before saying yes and throwing her arms around her fiancée.

The 25-year-old model had hinted at her future with Tiffany during her time on The Traitors, explaining that she wanted to use her $250,000 to start their family.

After being recruited to join the Traitors towards the end, having started the game as a Faithful, Alex committed the ultimate betrayal when she threw Marielle then Nigel under the bus to walk away with the prize, leaving Faithful Craig completely heartbroken as she said the dreaded words: ‘I’m a Traitor, Craig.’

Once officially declared the winner, she told host Rodger Corser: ‘It feels pretty good, I will say that, but also pretty bad. Bittersweet, I could say.’

Talking about the prize, she went on: ‘It means a house, a family, most importantly IVF, which can be very expensive but I’m sure that will cover more than needed.’

She added to the camera: ‘This is life-changing for me, literally! I am going to start a family, start my life with my girlfriend, I feel pretty damn good.’

She later added to Yahoo Lifestyle: ‘Some of it can go to a house deposit, some of it will go maybe to a ring when she proposes and the wedding, but mostly it will go towards IVF and having kids because they are very expensive.

‘There’s not a lot of light shed on IVF for gay couples – and also not a lot of light for straight couples as well and anyone that’s trying to conceive – so I think that it’s good to just represent the community in that way and be really honest about it and say that it is a gruelling process.

‘And not only do you have to go through so many hurdles, but the money side is also just detrimental as well.’

The Traitors Australia is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
