The Six took shocking action to cover their tracks (Picture: BBC)
EastEnders spoilers follow for Boxing Day’s (December 26) episode which is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
With Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) having met a gruesome end at the hands of Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) in EastEnders’ Christmas special, The Six had a big decision to make in the subsequent episode.
There was confusion aplenty, with all eyes on Linda, who was struggling to hold back the tears, apologising profusely for her actions, explaining that she was simply trying to save Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).
Despite Keanu almost choking her to death, Sharon fell to her knees and broke down, heartbroken over her former fiancé’s death.
Linda retreated to the bathroom, appalled by what she’d done, with Kellie Bright turning in some of her finest work to date as the Queen Vic landlady attempted to process her actions, confirming that she would turn herself in.
Sharon, however, was adamant that she would do no such thing, commending Linda for saving her life when she did.
Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), meanwhile, clashed over the best course of action, with Stacey wanting to scarper while Kathy was keen to call the police, with Denise critiquing both women’ plans.
Despite their initial conflict, however, the matriarchs ultimately decided to stick together and come up with a plan to ensure that none of them were implicated in the crime.
This meant disposing of the body.

Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), who is no stranger to a murder cover-up, was on hand to offer advice on how to emotionally detach oneself from such a situation and, with that in the mind, The Six swiftly formulated a plan.
Linda sobbed as she disposed of the weapon used to claim Keanu’s life, while Stacey and Denise obtained something that they could wrap the body in.
Suki used Keanu’s hand to put his prints on the smashed champagne bottle used by Denise to attack Nish (Navin Chowdhry), who was barely alive on the floor of the bar.

The plan was to make it look like a fight had broke out between Nish and Keanu, with Keanu, who would ideally be declared missing, being blamed for Nish’s injuries.
In disturbing scenes, The Six then wrapped Keanu’s body in a rug and discreetly moved him to the ruins of the cafe, with a huge hole in the centre of the building proving to be the perfect grave for the corpse.

The plan was far from foolproof and every one of the ladies struggled to come to terms with what they’d done. Sharon, however, stepped up to offer moral support, telling her fellow women that they can and will do this.
But will they get away with murder?
What’s more, will Nish live to fight another day? And will Rocky Cotton (Brian Conley), who was wandering drunk around the Square at the time of the crime, prove to be a liability?
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
