Marvel drops Jonathan Majors after domestic assault conviction
Marvel Studios has severed ties with Jonathan Majors, the Emmy-nominated actor, following his conviction for domestic assault against his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
After a New York jury determined that Majors, 34, had assaulted and harassed Jabbari during a March altercation, a Marvel spokesperson announced on Monday that the studio would no longer collaborate with the actor.
Majors, known for his portrayal of Kang the Conqueror in Marvel films such as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the Disney+ series Loki, faces a potential one-year prison sentence upon his sentencing in February.
The studio’s plans for the character, Kang the Conqueror, remain uncertain, with questions lingering about whether Marvel will recast the role or write the character out of the films.
