Travis Scott was forced to cancel his Chicago show on Friday because of a serious flight delay.

The 32-year-old rapper was due to bring his Utopia – Circus Maximus tour to Chicago’s United Center but had to postpone after his plane was stuck on a runway for ‘24 hours’.

He wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘I literally spent 24 hrs on a runway. Craziest [thing] ever.’

The musician – who shares two children with ex Kylie Jenner – added on Instagram: ‘U ever spent 24 hrs on a runway I have.’

Travis promised fans he’ll be back in January, writing: ‘To my people in Chicago I was so ready to go crazyyyy. Chicago always been one if my favorite places. To go ham and been waiting for it the whole tour. I will be back the first couple days of January.’

A message on the venue’s X account stated: ‘Travis Scott’s show at United Center scheduled for tonight has been postponed. All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new date once announced. More information will be posted here and emailed to ticketholders directly when available.’

A later message added: ‘Travis Scott Utopia Tour Presents Circus Maximus scheduled for December 15, 2023, has been rescheduled to January 3, 2024.

‘All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new date. For any questions regarding refunds, please check with your point of purchase.’

In November 2021, 10 concertgoers died and many more were injured when a crowd surged forward as the Sicko Mode rapper took to the stage at his festival in Houston.

Hundreds of lawsuits were filed against Travis, as well as promoters Live Nation and others involved in the event – but it was later ruled that he would not be indicted, and that ‘no single individual was criminally responsible’ for the tragedy.

Speaking in November, he revealed that he wasn’t in a good place after the ordeal, and has been through ‘rough moments’ in the aftermath.

‘Making music, you think about things that go on in life and things that happen in your life, and you dial in on things,’ he told GQ. ‘That moment for families, for the city, it was devastating. And when it came to making, like even finishing the album…I got back into it probably like, I don’t know, months and months and months after.’

When asked if he was not in a good place at the time, he continued: ‘Nah, not at all. I mean I was just overly devastated.’
