Peter keeps a secret, David disagrees with the Platts and Ed is attacked in Coronation Street next week (Picture: ITV)
‘Tis the season to be jolly but our Coronation Street favourites have little reason to be cheerful next week, as seen in our new spoiler videos.
The ITV soap is lining up more trials and tribulations for the residents of the eponymous street, with the week before Christmas proving to be a particularly tough one for all involved.
Metro has a first look as ever, with a brand new batch of clips from next week’s outings previewing the drama to come, with Gail Platt (Helen Worth) insisting on bringing the family together ahead of the festive season.
Doing so, however, proves a tall task, with David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) on hand to make a few running jokes about her past feuds.
Elsewhere, Carla Connor (Alison King) makes a shocking discovery about Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) ahead of his exit while Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) is brutally attacked.
This week, we’ve got three clips to tide you over until your next visit to the cobbles.
Here’s what you’ve got to look forward to!

The Platt clan prepare to head to the bistro with Audrey to ‘discuss their dirty linen’ following recent conflict between various members of the family.
David is quick to suggest that Gail should adopt such an attitude towards Eileen, but Gail bites back, insisting that her war with Eileen is more of ‘feud’ than a ‘grudge’ and that she intends to take that to the grave with her, much to the amusement of her loved ones.
Lily suggests a ‘nice box’ as a way to iron out the conflict, having been inspired by the one at school, which sees students write down one nice thing about a fellow student before anonymously putting it in the box.
Gail reckons that’s a great idea and thus sets off to acquire herself a box. But will it all pan out? Or can we expect more conflict and drama? Given this is the Platts we’re talking about, I’m going to say the latter option is more likely.

Carla returns to the flat to find Peter cleaning, which piques her suspicions as she quizzes him about his reasons for doing so. Peter reveals that he’s been in touch with the hospital in the hopes of reaching out to his liver donor’s family.
To Carla’s shock, the hospital has set up a meeting for Peter with his donor’s mum, who is expected at the flat within an hour. Carla assures him that she’ll be ready in time, making a beeline for the factory to prep Sarah to take the business meeting instead.
