Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) health continues to decline as 2024 begins in Coronation Street and as a result of his mobility getting worse, he ends up in a terrible accident.

Before we discuss the new year, let’s turn our attention to Christmas Day in Weatherfield.

At Paul and Billy’s (Daniel Brocklebank) flat, the couple are looking forward to a quiet day with a film and a bottle of fizz.

Later, Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney (Sam Aston) start to worry when they can’t get hold of Paul.

Fearing Paul might’ve had a fall, Ches and Todd (Gareth Pierce) break down the door – but they end up getting more than they bargained for!

    Woops!

As 2024 begins, Paul is thrilled when Summer (Harriet Bibby) reveals her uni lecturer has offered to take Paul for a spin in his motorbike’s sidecar later.

Dewey, Summer’s tutor, eventually arrives but only with the motorbike, no sidecar.

This leaves Summer and Billy with the difficult task of lifting Paul onto the pillion (the backseat of the bike) instead.

Poor Paul is left dangling helplessly. Feeling humiliated, he orders Summer and Billy to put him down.

Later in the week, Paul’s voice talker apparatus is delivered and he nervously uses the app to play some of his pre-recorded phrases.

When Billy then reveals the cost of travel insurance for their holiday is extortionate due to Paul’s MND, he insists they just forget about it.

In the pub, Gemma and David (Jack P Shepherd) learn of Paul’s cancelled holiday and try to cheer him up with some sangria.

After a fun afternoon, David helps a drunk Paul back to the flat.

When they arrive, Paul tells David he can go because his PA Moses is due any minute.

However, with no sign of Moses and Paul desperate for the loo, he tries to drag himself to his wheelchair – but crashes to the floor.

Who will come to Paul’s aid?
