Some people think there’s a Photoshop fail in Kate and Will’s Christmas card

One user on X, formerly Twitter, even boldly claimed it to be ‘the worst photoshopped pic ever’ (Picture: PA)

People are claiming a supposed editing gaff has left one of the Prince and Princess of Wales’s children missing an appendage on the front of the family Christmas card.

William and Kate released the black-and-white photo, which features the pair in matching white shirts with their three children, via their official account on X this weekend.

While the post garnered thousands of likes, shares and comments from well-wishers, some believe the image has been crudely edited, with one person even commenting: ‘This has got to be the worst Photoshopped pic ever.’

Most critics picked up on the placement of Prince Louis’s hand, claiming that his middle finger has been inexplicably removed from the shot.

Others added that Princess Charlotte’s hand appeared to be ‘too long.’

One user in particular appeared to have spent some considerable time studying the picture, commenting: ‘While it’s a nice family photo, as soon as I looked at it, I noticed Louis’ hand. He’s missing a finger.

‘That got me looking closer. His right leg looks swollen. Where’s William’s thigh? Where’s Kate’s other foot?’

It comes after Charles III and Camilla released their own official Christmas portrait for this year, which shows them in full royal regalia on the day of the King’s coronation, with Charles wearing the Imperial State Crown and Camilla wearing Queen Mary’s crown.

Those taking issue with the Prince and Princess of Wales’s annual family portrait might want to refer to some other actual photoshop blunders that made headlines earlier this year.

In January, the Department for Work and Pensions released a number of badly-edited photos sent in by men and women attempting to fraudulently claim government benefits.

Most of the images were sent to officials by people trying to prove their residence in the UK, with almost all of them showing poorly cut-out profiles of the would-be claimants pasted over screengrabs from Google Maps.
