Eric Bailly, along with four of his teammates, has been banished from the Besiktas squad, with the Turkish club citing ‘poor performance and incompatibility within the team’ for their exile.
Bailly moved to Besiktas from Manchester United over the summer after spending seven years at Old Trafford.
Injuries plagued his time in England and he never made more Premier League appearances in a single season than the 25 he managed in his first campaign with the club.
The Ivorian moved on after his contract expired at the end of last season, signing for the Turkish giants in September, but things are not going well for him.
The 29-year-old has made just five appearances in the Super Lig, the most recent being in the 3-1 home defeat to Fenerbahce on Saturday, which may well be his last game for the club.
Following the loss, which left Besiktas fifth in the Turkish top flight table, a club statement read: ‘Information from our club. 5 players from our Football A Team have been excluded from the squad.
‘Our Football Teams General Coordinator Samet Aybaba; He announced that Vincent Aboubakar, Valentin Rosier, Eric Bailly, Rachid Ghezzal and Jean Onana were excluded from the squad due to poor performance and incompatibility within the team.

‘Our work on the new staff structure continues. We respectfully present it to the public.’
Bailly only signed a contract that runs until the end of the season and he may be on his way out of the club in January if they can find someone to take him off their hands.
The five players have not had their contracts cancelled, but are training away from the first team squad for the foreseeable future.
