The Guardian – Rival Tory tribes threaten Sunak authority over Rwanda scheme

More on the rift within the Conservative Party comes on the Guardian’s front page, with the paper billing the coming days as the “biggest week” of Rishi Sunak’s premiership.

The paper says the prime minister’s authority is in the hands of warring tribes on the right and left of the Conservative party – not to mention a “gruelling” appearance before the Covid inquiry. As MPs meet this afternoon to debate how they should vote, the prime minister will be giving evidence to the Covid inquiry. The paper says he will be grilled on issues such as the Eat Out To Help Out scheme, which has been blamed for spreading the virus in 2020.

The front page reports cold weather and disease have taken hold in Gaza, as the winter sets in, there is little shelter for the 1.8m displaced people.
