Jenny’s crossing everything, hopeful Carla can help (Picture: ITV)
Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) is hoping for a Christmas miracle in Coronation Street soon as she edges closer to getting her beloved Rovers Return pub back.
This week, Jenny will search through the files on Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) laptop and manages to find the one he edited on the day he died, titled ‘Infinity Seagull Ventures’.
Unable to get help from the police with cracking the password, Jenny and Carla (Alison King) are given hope when Audrey (Sue Nicholls) pops into The Kabin with Stephen’s journal in hand.
Aware it could be the key to opening the pub again, Jenny and Carla try their best to get Audrey to hand the notebook over but she refuses.

Later, Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) tells Jenny not to give up as she deserves a cut of Stephen’s money for what she went through – and she could use it to buy the pub back.
In the Bistro, Daisy pops by and spots all the Platts’ coats hanging up.
Forming a plan, she steals David’s (Jack P Shepherd) keys, heads into Number 8 and searches for the journal, but she’s forced to run upstairs when Audrey returns.
Later in the week, Jenny approaches Carla and asks if she’ll lend her the money so she can apply for a mortgage and buy the pub back.

But what will Carla say?

Discussing the re-opening of the pub, boss Iain MacLeod told us: ‘The reopening of it will be based on this slightly shaky foundation of a criminal act, shall we say?

‘I think certain sets – and I’m not saying they should never change – but I’d certainly feel like I don’t want it to be modernised and gastropubified or turned into a chain pub.
‘Like I feel weirdly protective of Deirdre’s wallpaper at number one, I do feel like the Rover’s decor is going to be updated a touch. But for the most part, I really like the look and feel of it at the moment. So it’s going to reopen, looking quite similar.’
