It’s been mere months since Wilko closed down, and we mourned the loss of their pick ‘n’ mix, wondering where we’d now turn for those random household items and cheap tealights.
The Range stepped in to buy the brand – but it was thought they’d rebrand previous stores – and Wilko would disappear from our high-streets forever.
But soon, news came that B&M and Poundland had also bought some Wilko stores, and would be reopening a select few ‘concept stores’ as the Wilko we know and love.
One such store is in Luton – and shoppers have been thrilled to find it a veritable Christmas grotto.
The TikTok account, Step Forward Luton gave viewers a sneak peek of the store, and it’s already proving popular for those who are trying to get into the festive feeling.
‘Exciting news Lutonians,’ said the voiceover. ‘Wilko is back and they’ve chosen Luton to open their third new concept store in the UK.’
The video shows aisle after aisle of sparkly, gold, green and red Christmas decorations.
From baubles, to glittering reindeers and gingerbread houses, there’s so much festive fun to be had.
Its cut-price Christmas decorations look like the offerings you’d get in big department stores – but, says the voiceover, for a fraction of the cost.
‘The first thing we noticed was a huge range of Christmas decor and it’s at such great prices,’ Step Forward Luton told TikTok viewers. ‘Just look at some of these cute items.’

And amid all these new additions, this Wilko looks like the shop we knew and love, before the administration drama.
‘There’s a great selection of home decor goods now,’ they added. ‘As well as all your old Wilko favourites,’ says Step Forward Luton.
The Luton store also now has an in-house Dulux mixing station, and when asked by commenters if there was still pick ‘n’ mix, Step Forward Luton confirmed that there was – and it might even be bigger than it was before.

However, amid the excitement for Wilko’s high street return, viewers were quick to point out the same thing about the concept store.
‘It’s literally The Range,’ one commenter noted. ‘Just look at the tag on the products. Nothing Wilko about it’, said @connor.gains.
‘It’s NOT Wilkos,’ @mark_thomas2580 added. ‘It’s just the range stuff in an old Wilko store.
Whether it’s Wilko, The Range, or somewhere in between, it’s clear the shop is a must-visit if you want to get into that Christmas spirit.
