Chelsea star Cole Palmer ‘let Manchester United down’ by joining Manchester City, Patrice Evra has joked.
The 20-year-old emerged from Manchester City’s academy before joining Chelsea in a £42.5million deal.
That’s despite Palmer growing up as a United fan and hailing from Red hotspot Wythenshawe.
The winger has made a sensational start to life at Stamford Bridge and he continued his brilliant form with a great goal at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
And, speaking after United’s 2-1 win against the Blues, Evra joked that he needs to speak to Palmer’s parents about his decision to join City.

‘I think it’s not a great moment,’ joked Evra.
‘I think he let us down! I need to talk to his parents!
‘He grew up a United fan, you end up playing for City and you score a goal against United? He must not be a real fan.’
Palmer has been one of the rare highlights of Chelsea’s season.
The Blues were battered during their 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford, when United could and should have won by a considerably higher margin.
