Nations League – Tuesday 5 December 2023 fixtures
England play their final Nations League game tonight – away at Scotland. It’s a must-win for the Lionesses, and even if they do win, it still might not be enough to book Team GB’s sport at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
England came back from 2-0 down at Wembley against the Netherlands, winning the game 3-2. But despite the remarkable turnaround it still wasn’t enough to secure the top spot.
If the Netherlands beats Belgium tonight, England will need to beat Scotland by a high goal difference – realistically more than five.
The best England can do is make sure they win and score as many goals as possible, and hope the Netherlands drops points at Belgium.
There are plenty of other games tonight. Here’s a rundown of the Uefa Women’s Nations League fixtures and kickoff.
