Olivia Colman smoulders in head-to-toe latex for terrifying new role

Olivia Colman has taken on her most terrifying role to date: the CEO of a fossil fuel company.

The Oscar-winning actress, 49, stars as Oblivia Coalmine in Richard Curtis’s new campaign for Make My Money Matter, which strives to stop fossil fuel companies getting rich off the pensions of UK savers.

Drenched in latex and sipping on a champagne flute of oil, Olivia totally nails this skin-crawling new role and will no doubt do a stellar job drawing attention to the links between the UK’s pensions industry and fossil fuel companies.

Released just ahead of this week’s COP28 in the UAE, Make My Money Matter is urging the pensions industry to stop financing fossil fuel expansion.

For example, an eye-watering £88billion of UK pension money gets invested into oil and gas companies like Shell, which publicly rolled back on climate targets this year.

What’s more, despite 66% of pension holders supporting renewables and just 19% supporting oil and gas, not a single UK pension scheme has committed to stopping financing fossil fuel expansion.

Of her new role, Olivia said: ‘Fracking Hell, Oblivia Coalmine really is a nasty piece of work! But the scariest thing about her is that she represents something very real.’

The A-lister added: ‘That’s why this is such an important campaign. I hope everyone who sees this ad realises the shocking – but unintended – impacts of our pensions and makes their money matter. It really is one of the most powerful things we can all do to protect the planet.’

Richard, who co-founded Make My Money Matter, shared: ‘I’ve seen some dark, dystopian characters in my career, and that doesn’t even include Hugh Grant in Love Actually.

‘But I think Oblivia Coalmine is right up there with the worst. At Make My Money Matter, we hope this sinister performance by Olivia Colman highlights a more serious issue – that billions of pounds of our hard-earned pensions are driving the climate crisis.’

He continued: ‘People across the UK want their money to help our planet, not harm it and all our pension schemes must now pay attention and take immediate and urgent action.’

It comes after Peep Show star Olivia revealed she’s desperate to play James Bond’s mentor, M – a role that was most recently occupied by Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes.

With the future of the James Bond franchise up in the air following the departure of Daniel Craig after more than a decade, Olivia threw her hat in the ring.

Speaking to British Vogue, Olivia was taken aback when she was compared to Judi, 88, who played the Chief of Secret Intelligence in the films for 20 years.

‘What! I’ve never heard [that I look like Judi Dench]. Oh, I love that!

‘Well,’ she exclaimed, before she eventually conceded, ‘I’ve got short hair’.

She then revealed she’d definitely be up for taking on the role of M in the next Bond film, which might be a few years away just yet.

‘The amount of time I have wanted to be M. I’m not sure who I need to call,’ Olivia added.
