There’s a dark secret festering for one major Emmerdale couple, and it ultimately blows them apart.
On the surface, Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) and Nicky (Lewis Cope) are a gorgeous couple – head over heels in love. While that really is true, the secret underpinning them will see that love dissolve.
Nicky knows something that will destroy Amit (Anil Goutam) – that he rowed with Rishi (Bhasker Patel) before he fell, and then left him there to die. When Nicky revealed this knowledge to Amit, it ended in Nicky taking a punch.
They covered up the truth by saying Amit’s violence was down to homophobia.

This lie nearly drove a huge wedge with Jai’s (Chris Bisson) family, as they could not abide by a homophobe residing in their midst.
Jai and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) are still regarding Amit with disdain, and realising he must accept their views on him to protect his secret, Amit resigns himself to leaving and heading back to India.

Suni is shocked and immediately tries to convince Laurel that Amit is not a bad dude, while also telling Amit it’s not the right decision.

Laurel senses there’s more to the punch story and approaches Nicky to find out the truth about why Amit hit him – neither realise Amit is lurking close by, enduring squeaky bum time over whether Nicky will keep things to himself.
Needing a pick-me-up, Suni arranges a night out with Nicky, Gabby, and Ethan, but when he sees Nicky he doesn’t trust that his boyfriend has kept the truth from Laurel. In a rash move prompted by anxiety, he dumps him – but immediately regrets it.
